48 “However, the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says:

49 “‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.What kind of house will you build for me?says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be?

50 Has not my hand made all these things?’

Acts 7:48-50 NIV

These words were spoken by a great man of faith, Stephen, in a speech to the Sanhedrin, the supreme council of Jews at the time. Stephen was a man filled by the Holy Spirit brought before the leaders who persecuted him as a teacher and follower of Jesus Christ in the days of the early church. This passage is a reminder of the magnitude of God's power in such what place built by human hands could ever contain the maker of the universe, Yahweh.
